!LETTER: [From Jeanne Bell, Farmington, New Mexico 87499. Postal Dated, Farmington, NM Jul 2 8 1993. Letter reads as follows:] June 28, 93. Dear Don, Was glad to receive your letter exp laining & answering my questions. I met & knew your day [Grandfather] as Uncle Lannie. I ha ve found a box of letters to my dad in the years of 1913 - 1918 in some of my mothers thing s that I have stored since 1977. Most of the letters were from his brothers & sisters in Ark . & Okla., to him while he was in Custer Mont., during the oil & gas descovery's (I think) , & one or 2 to him in Wyoming. My father was a very quite man as I knew him. Never talke d very much to me, maybe because he was sick a lot in the late 20's early 30's & later afte r I was married. He & my husband got along real well & would rest & talk about a lot of thin gs that I didn't pay much attention too. I can't remember him talking about his folks or gran dparents, except in the 194?, when we went to visit his mother in Ark. I'm enclosing a cop y of their marriage announcement that was in my mothers things. I also still have more to g o thru. Also some old letters. Sorry I couldn't be of more help at this time. Will write a gain if I can find anything of interest to you. My mother was born in Rapid City S. Dak. 8-2 9-1886. Her parents came here about 1889. She met my father after he came here, hauling oi l & gas equipment, when they opened up the Rattlesnake gas fields, which is west of Farmingto n. He also was a truck driver, when his health permitted him to. Sincerely Jeanne.

!MARRIAGE: [From the Times Hustler, December 19, 1924 - Farmington, New Mexico] Miss Pearl Bl ake Becomes Mrs. Lloyd Martin. Wednesday evening of last week at eight o'clock Mr. Lloyd Mar tin and Miss Pearl Blake were united in marriage at the Episcopal church. In the absence o f the regular minister, Rev. Mr. Martin is connected wit h a local garage and though comparatively a newcomer, has many warm friends in the community . The bride needs no introduction to Farmington people' as she has spent most of her life he re and is a worker in church and lodge and very popular in society. The bride wore a beautif ul gown of heavy white silk crepe trimmed with white fur and pearl beads, and a long veil fas tened with orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white carnations and baby breath. Her veil w as carried by her small nice and nephew. Miss MacFarland wore blue silk and carried a bouque t of pink Dorothy Perkins roses and white carnations. Immediately after the ceremony a recep tion was given by the Rebekah lodge and St. John's Guild in the lodge rooms. The reception w as also a shower and many beautiful gifts were received by the newlyweds. The rooms were bea utifully decorated and were filled to capacity.
