Osborn, an d with his and Jacob Rogers and John Martin who are persons of respectability and credit to t he court here well known, who being dully sworn at their oaths firm to the satisfaction of th e court that James Martin who was a private in Capt. Patrick company in the Regt. of Ark. Mtd . Vols. [Mexican war] that said Martin in his life time received for his service [two] 160 ac res. That on or about the 7th day of December 1850 [7th day of July] said James Martin depar ted this life intestate, that the only heirs of law of said James Martin were Sarah Lynch, fo rmerly Sarah Martin who intermarried with Joseph Lynch who resides in Illinois, Elizabeth Smi th who resides in the State of Alabama both of whom are sisters of decedent and his brother s Edmund T. Martin, William Martin, Solomon Martin and John Martin who reside in this State , and that as the decedent left no wife child, or children, father or mother him surviving, s aid sisters and brothers are the only heirs at law of said James Martin deceased.

THE GRANTOR, Sarah A. Lynch widow in the County of Parker and State of Texas for and in con sideration of Six Hundred Dollars, in hand paid, convey and warrant to J.T. Garner of the S tevenson Township County of Marion and State of Illinois the following described real estat e to wit:
Commencing at the North West corner of the North East quarter (1/4) of the North East quarte r (1/4) of Section Six (6) in Township Two (2) North Range Three (3) East running South alon g said line to the North East corner of ten (10) acre lot off of the South end of the North W est quarter (1/4) of the North East quarter (1/4) of said Section Thence East far enough t o make ten (10) acres Thence North to the line on the North end of said tract of land Thenc e West to the place of beginning. Also the North West quarter (1/4) of the North East quarte r (1/4) of Section Six (6) Town Two (2) North Range Three (3) East containing 37 79/100 acre s excepting ten (10) acres off of the South end. Situated in the County of Marion in the Sta te of Illinois, hereby releasing and waiving all rights under and by virtue of the Homestea d Exemption Laws of this State
