!NAME:Loyd Bean
!BIO: Davis Edmond Been source, A Bean/Been Scrapbook of Clan MacBean History & the genealog
y of the descendants of William & Naomi Bates Bean, as compiled by Frank E. Been., 5500 Navil
leton Road, Floyd's Knobs, Indiana 47119. - Uncle Ed was born 10-9-1880, the 2nd child of Gra
ndma & Grandpa Been. He was a farmer & coal miner. He & Aunt Lucy lived most of their live
s in Midland, Arkansas. I can vaugly remember visiting them there in 1937 when Dad sent Mo
m & us kids to live with my Grand-Parents during the 1937 Flood in the Louisville area. Beatr
ice their oldest daughter also lived in Midland with her husband Marvin Bailey. One of thei
r daughters Barbara Nell Bailey Aldridge furnished me with most of the info I have on Uncle E
d's family. Simon "Son" Been was about my Dad's age & Dad & Mom visited him & his wife Grac
e in California in the 1970's. Loyd & Floyd were not twins as many think, but they were bot
h coal miners. Loyd was the only one of our family that I know of who spelled his name Bean
. Uncle Ed's 4th son Luther who was brain damaged from birth, died within hours after Aunt L
ucy, who had cared for him all his life. JC as their youngest son Jessie was called, was a S
chool Teacher & one of the few of this family that I have met as an adult. [Information on t
his family is supplied by Frank E. Bean of Indiana & Barbara Nell (Bailey) Aldridge of Fort S
mith, Arkansas.]
