!OBITUARY:Information found in the Southwest American Newspaper, Fort Smith, Sebastian County , Arkansas. March 2, 1928. MRS. S.A. LYNCH SUCCUMBS FRIDAY AFTER OPERATION, Wife of County J udge Dies in Fort Smith Hospital At 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Blanche Lynch 1224 Blluff Avenue, 50 , years old wife of County Judge S.A. Lynch, died at 8:30 o'clock Friday night in a Fort Smit h hospital after an emergency operation which she underwent Sunday night for appendicitis. F uneral arrangements are incomplete, the service probably will be conducted Sunday afternoon . The body is at the Fentress Mortuary. Mrs. Lynch had not been in good health for severa l months and recently went to St. Louis to consult specialists because of failing sight. Th e latter part pof last week she was attacked with appendicitis. Her condition became critica l and an emergency operation was performed Sunday night. A resident of Sebastian county fo r 36 years and of Fort Smith 24 years. Mrs. Lynch was widely known. She was Miss Blanche Ro gers, daughter of the late William Rogers of Mississippi, who died when Mrs. Lynch was a smal l girl. She came with her mother to Arkansas when 14 years old. She was married to S.A. Lyn ch Dec. 24, 1895. They resided near Greenwood until they came to Fort Smith March 4, 1904 . She was identified with religious and fraternal circles. She was past matron of Fort Smit h chapter 237 Order of Eastern Starr, and also was a member of the Woodmen circle. She had b een a member of the Christian church for 15 years. Judge and Mrs. Lynch resided on South Thi rteenth Street until a year ago when they meoved to a new residence on Bluff avenue. Survivi ng relatives are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Fannie Sewell of Tecumseh, Okla., a sister Mrs . Mamie Lynch, probation officer, 315 North Tenth Street, Fort Smith; a half sister, Mrs. Bon nie Ellis of Oxnard, Calif.; four brothers, Martin Rogers and Robert Rogers, Tecumseh, Okla. , Oscar Rogers, Purcell, Okla., John Rogers, Trousvale, Okla.; and a half brother, Sam Sewel l of Trousvale, Okla. She was the aunt of Roger, Paul and Robert Lynch of 315 North Tenth St reet, of Mrs. M.B. Hardaway, Fort Worth, Texas, and of John Lynch, Chicago. Her mother, Mrs . Sewell, her niece, Mrs. M.B. Hardaway and her brother, John Rogers are in the city. They w ere called here when Mrs. Lynch's condition became critical.
